Active
For persons with at least one year of legal experience. Upon application and approval, active members also become members of Legal Professionals Incorporated, receiving its quarterly magazine and discounts on statewide conferences, webinars, and multi-week classes.
Full voting rights and eligibility for office.Student
For persons training to become a legal professional. Upon completing the required active legal office employment, student members may advance to active membership with all attendant rights and obligations.
Status may be retained up to one year after becoming employed. Not eligible for office or voting, but may serve on committees.Associate
For persons who wish to become a legal professional but have not yet met the one-year legal experience requirement. Upon completing the required employment, associate members may advance to active membership.

The Sacramento Legal Professionals Association is a local chapter of Legal Professionals Incorporated (LPI), a statewide nonprofit educational organization serving legal support professionals throughout California. LPI administers the California Certified Legal Secretary (CCLS) certification, publishes The Legal Professional®, and hosts quarterly conferences, webinars, and multi-week educational classes open to members across the state.
One membership, two levels of support. Your dues payment covers both your local Sacramento Legal Professionals Association membership and your statewide LPI membership — so you receive the benefits of both with a single application.
